Jackie! I really appreciate your clear examples and explanations, illustrating and making the concepts click for me. I am enjoying the new words… expanding my vocabulary and stimulating my thoughts and understanding, especially the Japanese culture and ideas! And I’m also enjoying getting to know you a bit more!! Thanks!
Thanks so much, Lois. I’m really glad it resonated—and I appreciate you taking the time to say so! I’ve also been enjoying how language from other cultures can open up new ways of thinking. Would love to hear which part stuck with you most.
The art of concise is what resonates with me! I adore words which capture and express specific yet complex things. I love how you introduced and explained ‘kodawari’ as “reframing perfectionism into its positive counterpart: caring deeply. … noticing the details no one else may, and honoring them anyway. …” and the rest of that paragraph.
I don’t know Issey Miyake designs (and was happy to be educated!), but I loved how you explained the difference between tailoring and personalization, and your whole paragraph describing his pleated garments and A-POC system is brilliantly expressed. Then connecting this ‘kodawari’ personalization and flexibility to the attunement of AI systems… and then linking in el-Omda Labubu...!!! :)
While I didn’t understand a lot of the product marketing jargon and concepts, I appreciate your meticulously crafted words and descriptions and connections. Enjoyable reading!
